According to the  Report of Azalea Trail Committee,  Mr. John T. Cochrane, Jr. President Junior Chamber of Commerce, Mobile Alabama on establishing Mobile Azalea Trail, "One of the restraining influences which had prevented home-owners from planting Azaleas in the past, has been the relatively high cost of such plants in comparison with the cost of other shrubs."  "We have overcome this objection by securing the co-operation of the nurseries and individual growers, and through our quantity purchases lot contract are able to offer the plants at a very low cost." 
As the Nursery center of the South Semmes Nurseries  provided  at a reasonable price   Azalea Plants  for the planting of the Azalea in Mobile for the Azalea Trail.
The municipality of the City of Semmes was Established May 2, 2011 and the City Seal is an Azalea honoring our Nursery Industry.
