Experiencing School 1902 Style

Students on a field trip from Our Lady of Guadalupe School came prepared to experience a living history lesson dressed in period clothing, carrying jars of food to  make a pot of hot soup for lunch on  the school's wood heater.  
​ When the weather became cool and a fire had to be built parents would send canned jars of food which were dumped in a large pot on the wood heater that cooked while lessons were being taught.  There was no lunch room, children brought their lunch from home and this was a way to have a hot lunch.
